My name is Colin, and I am writing to you today as the CEO of MPP Software, the makers, and hosts of the Eligere platform. I wanted to write to you today and ask you to consider a hypothetical with me.
Let’s say you’re a long-time user of one of the incumbent online booking services. The last several years have been really good to you, the service has found you lots of guests and made you money, and as a good homeowner and host, you’ve established a good rapport with many of your renters, several of whom are regular return customers now. This story has played out for millions of homeowners on the existing platforms. But so too has the following: over the same period, your fees for listing your property have been going up regularly, but worse, the costs to your clients have been going up at double or triple the rate over the same period. In the early 2010s, so many homeowners opened their doors to the world and prices regularly beat hotels & other institutional rental businesses. Now that isn’t the case anymore, with the overhead on private residences making them as expensive if not more so than their big corporate chain equivalents. That is the hallmark of a broken sharing economy, and something we at MPP Software find incredibly disappointing.
That is why we want to invite you to reset the clock. Bring your users over to our platform and enjoy one fee for enrolling in the service, with no hidden charges or overheads added on to the customer to pad our pockets. If you’re like many, you have an established group of contacts and recurring visitors who will follow you and your property regardless of the service it’s hosted on.
