MPP Software CEO Hopes to Grow Lethbridge Tech Sector
In this interview with Global News Canada, Colin Moreland shares that it is his ambition “to be one of the top employers” in Lethbridge, and “create opportunities for diversified, high-quality jobs” for the city. The Alberta technology sector is concentrated in Edmonton and Calgary.
Lethbridge has a more diversified economy, agriculture being a key contributor. Pre-pandemic, the city continued to have positive GDP growth while Alberta’s GDP declined. Non-commercial services like Alberta Health and the two post-secondary institutions also contribute to its balanced economy; the schools ensure there is a well-educated labour force. The city also prides itself on having a strong community, and those relationships help make it easier for businesses to push forward through the red tape.
